Why Matsue is busy in November?
In Japan, it is believed that God dwells in all things. For example, even a grain of rice contains a god. For this reason, people have been taught from their childhood that even a grain of rice should not be wasted. There is a meeting where such gods gather only once a year. It is in Izumo in November (October in the lunar calendar). Izumo is a neighboring city of Matsue, which is very crowded with tourists (and maybe gods) during this time of the year. Therefore, hotel reservations are not easy to make and prices are relatively high. Instead, you might have a chance to see special events during this period of time.
