Plants and human parasites have something in common!
I will talk about lipid metabolism in a protozoan parasite, Entamoeba histolytica that causes human amoebiasis. E. histolytica seems to be unrelated to plants. However, this parasite interestingly relies on plant-type fatty acid elongase, the 1st enzyme of fatty acid elongation system, which is an essential lipid metabolism for homeostasis of living organisms.
