In Japan, the spread of new coronavirus infections (COVID-19) has spread nationwide, and the infection rate among young people has recently increased. If you do not act with moderation now, the infection will spread further. As a university student, you must take responsibility for your actions. In universities where students, faculty and staff gather, the three cases often overlap. We must ensure that we do not create the following environments.

❶ Closed space with poor ventilation

❷ Crowded place where many people gather

❸ Close scenes of speaking in close proximity

Make sure you have the right information to prevent yourself from becoming a source of infection, not just from becoming an infected person. If you think you are infected, consult your college or friend immediately over the phone, rather than go out unnecessarily and consult with people.

Prevent!

Be aware that you may be infected.

✤Measure your body temperature every day.

✤Avoid going out and crowding as little as possible.

→For example, refrain from playing with friends as little as possible (May be a source of clustering)

✤Wear a mask when going out (does not go out to the public without a mask)

→ Sometimes even infected people have no symptoms!

→ Wear a mask in classroom.

→ Do not touch the face nor the mask when wearing the mask.

✤Avoid having some people get together and eat together.

→ For example, Welcome parties etc.

✤Wash your hands and gargle thoroughly.

→ Wash your hands up to your wrist carefully.

→ If there is a disinfectant, use it actively.

✤Live a regular life

→ Eat enough food and get enough sleep to improve immunity.

Be prepared!

It is important to always be prepared for when you become infected, because you do not know when you will become infected. So, understand the importance of food, beverages, cash, friends and more.

✤Store food and drink for several days (They can also be used as food and drink for disaster)

✤Keep a little cash at home (It’s necessary in case of emergency).

✤Make a reliable friends (They bring food to the front of the house. You can be contacted)

✤Know well about nearby stores (Not panic when needed).

What if you think you are infected? (Which one of the following 4?)

  1.  Fever and respiratory symptoms, close contact with new coronavirus (COVID-19) infected person within the last 14 days.
  2.  Fever and respiratory symptoms, have traveled to endemic area, or close contact with people who have traveled to endemic area within the last 14 days
  3. Symptoms of cold or fever of 37.5 °C or more for more than 2 days
  4. Severe lassitude (malaise) or breathlessness (dyspnea)

✤If you have fever, wait at home (do not come to university).

→ Do not go out with fever of 37.5 °C or more (suspicion of infection)
