We held the meeting for the research presentation by undergraduates from the Chemistry Department on February 26. Ms. Reika Kato, Mr. Ion Matamura, and Mr. Keisuke Yoshida presented their studies on “Vibrational strong coupling of aqueous macromolecules”, “Development of photoacoustic spectroscopy”, and “Vibrational strong coupling of CO2 in PEG solution”, respectively.

Prof. Matsumoto was invited to the “21st Discussion Meeting on Structure and Dynamics of Molecules and Clusters (SDMC2026)”, at the Pench National Park, Madhya Pradesh, India, on February 19-22. The title of the invited talk was “Gas-phase molecular science in an optical cavity”.
Defense of Master’s Thesis
We held the defense of the master’s thesis on February 12, 2026. Ms. Haruka Nishimura and Mr. Eiyu Mitsukawa gave their presentations, titled “Theoretical study on chirality preference of molecular clusters” and “Precise control of optical cavity for observation of gas-phase vibrational polaritons”, respectively.
