Atom spectrum and localization of Grothendieck categories
A Grothendieck category is an abelian category with certain properties. It is known that the category of modules over a ring and the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on a scheme are Grothendieck categories. In this talk, we introduce the notion of the atom spectrum of a Grothendieck category. It is a generalization of the prime spectrum of a commutative ring. By using the atom spectrum, we give a classification of the localizing subcategories and develop a theory of localization of a Grothendieck category.

    (1) Construction of a vertex decomposable graph using whiskers
Let G be a finite simple graph and E(G) denote the edge set of G. Let S be the polynomial ring and I(G) denote the monomial ideal of S which correspond to E(G), and it is called the edge ideal of G. If G is a vertex decomposable graph, then S/I(G) is a sequentially Cohen-Macaulay ring. In my talk, we construct vertex decomposable graphs using whiskers and obtain examples of sequentially Cohen-Macaulay rings. We express the result of Francisco-Van Tuyl(2008) in term of cycles of G.
    (2) The regularity of vertex decomposable graphs
Let G be a vertex decomposable graph, and reg(G) denote (Castelnuovo-Mumford) regularity of S/I(G). A subset E⊆E(G) is a induced matching of G if there is a induced subgraph H of G which is disjoint union of edges satisfying E(H)=E. Let im(G)=max{♯E ; E is a induced matcing of G}, and it is called induced matching number of G. In general, one has the inequality reg(G)≧im(G). The equality holds if G does not contain cycles of length 5. In my talk, we give a new method to calculate reg(G) for any vertex decomposabale graphs.
