What made them achieve their jobs? Well, it’s just because they continued to do their jobs until done. A US writer prof. Duckworth reported how environment could reinforce grid of an individual in her book “Grit”. A shortcut is to join a team whose members have grid. While you work with such persons, you become such a person who takes it for granted. That situation also occurred to me when I joined Toshiba ULSI lab. But, it’s just a coincidence that I luckily joined such a team. In those days, you could realize how workplace was after you joined. But, nowadays, you could have chance to know it during internship. You should take a look not only at what they are doing, but also at how they are doing. If you see the team has grid, it’s very worth selecting that team for your carrier. Thinking of my lab, what can I do to make the lab good one? It’s probably nice that lab members make a habit of having presentation at conferences at least once during senior class so that the lab team members could turn to have grid. The above book also states that one tends to accomplish a new job once you got accustom of achievement. If that statement is true, graduated students should be able to contribute to their society with their achievement.
