We attended the 19th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Molecular Science at Hiroshima on September 9-12. Mr. Eiyu Mitsukawa and Kaichi Miyashita gave their poster presentations titled “Precise control of an optical cavity to observe gas-phase vibrational polaritons” and “Measurement of cavity transmission spectra to study on gas-phase vibrational polaritons”, respectively.
International symposium on 2DCOS XIII
Prof. Matsumoto attended the International Symposium on 2DCOS (two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy) XIII at Beijing University, China, on August 17-19. He gave an invited talk titled “Structures of Gas-Phase Large Molecular Clusters Studied by Two-Dimensional Correlation IR Spectroscopy”.
Our article was published
Our paper “Solvent-dimer-mediated clusters as a microscopic model of solution: IR spectroscopy and density functional theory of jet-cooled pyrrole-tetrahydrofuran clusters” was published in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.
40th Symposium on Chemical Kinetics and Dynamics
We participated the 40th Symposium on Chemical Kinetics and Dynamics, held at Kobe University on June 4-6. Mr. Eiyu Mitsukawa (M2) gave a poster presentation “Precise control of an optical cavity to observe gas-phase vibrational polaritons”.
Laboratory tour and banquet
In the Department of Chemistry, we provided the laboratory tour and banquet inviting B3 students on May 30. This is an opportunity to encourage students to consider a laboratory assignment in the future.
Laser spectroscopy workshop
Our laboratory members participated “Laser Spectroscopy Workshop” at Gotemba on May 23-24. This workshop is annual meeting jointly by five laboratories from Science Tokyo, Kitasato University, and Shizuoka University. We enjoyed oral and poster presentations with beer, wine, and sake.
Starting the spring-summer semester of 2025
We start our laboratory activity in the spring-summer semester of 2025 today.
Farewell & welcome party
We had the farewell and welcome party at our familiar beer restaurant “Grow Stock” on Mar. 3. We enjoyed nice beer, food, and conversation with a lot of smile.
Research presentation
The research presentation in the Department of Chemistry was held on Feb. 27-28. Four students in our laboratory, Mr. Miyashita, Ms. Hara, Mr. Hayashi, and Mr. Fukui, gave their presentations of “Cavity transmission for polaritonic chemistry”, “Chirality recognition of molecular dimer”, “IR spectroscopy of dihydrogen-bonded clusters”, and “Dependence of dihydrogen bond strength on its angle”, respectively. We were pleased to enjoy nice presentations.
Defense of master’s thesis
Three students in our laboratory, Mr. Oyaide, Hayano, and Furukawa, gave their presentations to show fruitful results in defending the master’s thesis.
