Daniel Moraru and a delegation from the Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University (Prof. Masakazu Kimura, Prof. Toru Aoki, Assist, Prof. Hiroki Kase) had a series of meetings with academic partners and colleagues in Iasi, Romania. The meetings have been organized at 3 main academic and research institutions of Iasi: Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (UAIC), Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) and the Romanian Academy – Iasi Branch. We appreciate the time and effort of colleagues supporting and arranging many of these meetings in advance.
We had the pleasure to meet the new leadership team of UAIC, including Prof. Liviu-George Maha (new Rector of UAIC), Prof. Romeo Iulian Olariu (new Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Development, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer) and Prof. Nicoleta Laura Popa (new Vice-Rector for International Relations and Partnerships for Studies and Research). Meetings with Prof. Ionut Topala (new Dean of Faculty of Physics) and Prof. Lenuta Alboaie (new Dean of Faculty of Computer Science) and many colleagues from each Faculty completed our interactions with lots of ideas for future partnerships, enhancement of mobilities and statement of interest in common topics of research and education.
At the Romanian Academy, Iasi Branch, after an insightful visit at the Library of the Academy, we had an interactive session of discussions with a large number of colleagues at multiple research institutes embedded in the Academy. A diverse set of topics was displayed by our delegation and, on behalf of our counterparts, by Dr. Mihaela Luca and other colleagues.
Our interactions at Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS), organized by Dr. Iuliana Motrescu and with guidance from many colleagues at IULS, revealed new complementary topics that can work positively for building an inter-disciplinary partnership in the future. This partnership, as well as that with UAIC, can be further supported by the existing Erasmus+ coordination between the two Universities in Iasi and Shizuoka University.
We look forward to many future developments on the base of such interactions, involving the Research Institute of Electronics as a key partner on behalf of Shizuoka University.
