The 85th Fall Meeting of the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) was held in Niigata, Toki Messe during Sept. 16-20, 2024. As every year, this is an event gathering students, professors, researchers from both academia and industry in thousands, away from Tokyo, to present their research progress and discuss new ideas on a wide variety of topics (sections) related to applied physics. This includes many oral and poster presentations in Japanese language, but also an increasing number of presentations in English, not only in the regular sessions, but also in the JSAP-Optica Joint Symposium or in the more recent JSAP-MRS Joint Symposium.
Daniel Moraru attended the full event, participating also in the JSAP President’s Reception for Overseas Participants as a Director of International Relations on the JSAP Board of Directors, as well as in a number of specialized sessions. It was a pleasure to extend many interactions and even welcome guests and presenters from abroad, including from our partner societies, such as MRS or Optica.
Looking forward to the next editions and to an increasing international presence in this broad-scoped national event.
