From this year, Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) has a new committee, D&I•International Relations Committee, resulting from merging the previously distinct Diversity & Inclusion Committee and International Relations Committee.

From the position of Executive Director of this new committee, Daniel Moraru contributed to a piece published in the Applied Physics (応用物理) magazine on the background and significance of this integration, together with Dr. Aya Tanaka (NTT Basic Research Laboratories), Prof. Ichiro Shoji (Chuo University) and Prof. Osamu Nakatsuka (Nagoya University).

The bottom line is in this final paragraph:
“As the newly formed D&I•International Relations Committee embarks on its journey, we invite all JSAP members ***and not only*** to engage with our initiatives, share their perspectives, and contribute to shaping a more inclusive and interconnected future. Together we can build a scientific society that not only excels in research, but also in promoting equity, diversity, and international collaboration.”
