At the beginning of December 2025, the Materials Research Meeting 2025 took place at Pacifico Yokohama, with a large participation from all over the world of researchers in various fields of materials science.

Thanks to a request from Dr. Ludmila Cojocaru (Assoc. Prof. at the University of Tokyo) and Prof. Takaya Kubo, Daniel Moraru delivered an Invited Talk, aiming to demonstrate that silicon – the core material for electronics and one of the of the most studied materials in history – has the potential of developing new functionalities when downscaled into nanoscale and doped or especially codoped at high concentrations.

The title of the Invited Talk was: “High-Concentration Codoped Silicon-on-Insulator Devices with Thin Films for Single-Charge Tunneling Functionalies”.

Valuable feedback was received while also gathering new information from other excellent keynote, invited, and contributed presentations, with a lot of discussions also at the poster session. Looking forward to seeing many of the colleagues at some other events coming up, too, in the next period.

Many thanks again to the MRM2025 Organizers for the invitation and interest in our lab’s research work.
