Message from Shizuoka University

Faculty of Engineering, Shizuoka University strives to meet social expectations through “the cultivation of capable individuals who are equipped with a wealth of expertise and the basic skills”, “world-class research utilizing regional industrial strength” and “Contribution to local community and industry”, based on the manufacturing technology. The Faculty of Engineering is located in the western part of Shizuoka prefecture, in the city called Hamamatsu. The region is famous for “Yaramaika spirit”, which means “pioneering spirit” in Japanese. “Yaramaika spirit” led the region to produce founders of TOYOTA, HONDA & SUZUKI and the region became the leader of Japanese motor industry and whole manufacturing industry. While we continue to develop education that emphasizes “manufacturing technology”, we also promote innovation in many industrial fields and foster globally active researchers and engineers. We are looking forward to welcoming researchers from Budapest Institute of Technology and Economics in Hamamatsu with environment suitable for international researchers.
