Meetings with several key persons were arranged by Prof. Mani Navaneethan and Assoc. Prof. Harish S., including with: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, the Registrar, Prof. S. Ponnusamy, and the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Leenus J. Martin.

It was also an occasion to attend the National Conference on Functional Materials (NCFM), organized by the team at the Center of Excellence in Materials for Advanced Technologies (CeMAT), under the coordination of the Convenor, Prof. J. Archana, along with Co-Convenors, Dr. K. D. Nisha and Dr. P. Justin Jesuraj.

Except for many interesting and valuable presentations and interactions, Daniel Moraru delivered a talk about “Opportunities for Mobility and Research: Taking the Less Traveled Paths” to many attending students and staff at the end of the conference.

A lecture series was also delivered, entitledQuantum Tunneling, Materials, and Nanoscale Electronic Devices”, to a large number of students, young researchers and colleagues from SRM-IST. This was done at the kind invitation of Nanotechnology Research Center (NRC), through its Director, Prof. M. Navaneethan, with thanks to CeMAT team and especially its Director, Prof. J. Archana.

Hopefully, there will be many developments and future collaborations that can arise from such extended interaction on different aspects. Many thanks to everyone involved in these arrangements.
